Mulberry has been used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for centuries. Morus Nigra Leaf Extract is an extract of the dried leaves of the Black Mulberry, Morus Nigra L., Moraceae In recent years, extracts of the leaf and roots have gained attention for their potential in regulating carbohydrate and glucose metabolism. In August 2002, issue of the Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, a study by SH Lee, et. al found that mulberry extract inhibits melanin production. Formulators commonly use this product for whitening and conditioning due to the properties found in mulberries.
