Carrot butter is a bright yellowish solid butter made by a combination of carrot oil and non-GMO Soy Butter. Carrot Oil is rich in beta-carotene, Vitamin B, C, D, and E, and essential fatty acids. This butter can be added to creams or lotions to make them ultra-rich and improve the hydration and smooth texture of the skin. This exotic butter spreads well, making it an excellent choice for a massage butter or as a base for moisturizing products.
Aromatic Description: Mild to no scent.
Common Uses: Solid butter, excellent for making rich lip balms as well as, skin, nail, and hair care products.
Recommended Usage:
• Lotions & Creams: 2 – 20%
• Balms: 5 – 100%
• Bar Soaps: 5 – 20%
• Hair Conditioners/ Pomades: 1 – 10%
When adding butter to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm the butter before incorporating it into the final product. Using a hand blender, you can create a vortex with your cream or lotion and then drizzle your melted butter in, to fully incorporate it. For addition to soaps, the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per pound (15 g / 500 g). As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend preparing small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.
Note: Before adding raw butters to creams, lotions and balms, it is recommended to temper them. Gently and slowly heat the butter until liquid, and then let it cool completely. The melting point can range from 32°C to 35°C. This will improve the texture of the final product by reducing the potential for graininess.
